Road Safety: The safest place continues to be is at home. Citizens are urged to stay off the roads today for their own safety and for the safety of first responders who are also impacted by hazardous road conditions.
- As of this 10:15am this morning, the Main Street, Hart, and Matthews Bridges, are closed in both directions due to icy conditions. The Florida Department of Transportation is currently working to de-ice the affected bridges. Follow the JSO and JaxReady social media channels for updates on when the bridges will reopen.
630-CITY: The call center will be staffed until 5pm on Wednesday, January 22. Citizens should continue to report any icy road conditions or downed powerlines they encounter by calling 904-630-CITY (2469).
JTA: Bus and Ferry service is now fully operational on Wednesday, January 22. Buses have detours around bridges so that routes are not impacted. Due to freezing rain and below freezing temperatures, the Skyway will start at 11am, as long as it remains safe to do so. JTA will continue to provide free transportation to the City’s Warming Centers. Any service operation announcements will be made on their social media channels.
JAA: Jacksonville International Airport will reopen at 12pm on Wednesday. Travelers should check with their airline on flight status.
